HAPPY WAITANGI DAY!
Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Life has finally decided to change for the better for me today.

Today is WAITANGI DAY! What that is, I don't really know but a public holiday definitely makes me happy! To all in NZ, HAPPY WAITANGI DAY! :D

To start out, I had the morning off because I don't train on Wednesday mornings. Spent the entire morning just lazing around watching the telly. Yknow how much I like that (:

Afternoon training was a blast! I had my first ever heart rate set in New Zealand! Trust me, YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE. In comparison to the heart rate set that John gives us 2-3 times a week in Singapore, the heart rate set here is really easy. When someone like ME says it's easy, IT REALLY IS.

Singapore's heart rate set would be 30x100 free on 1.40.
New Zealand's (or rather, my club's) heart rate set is 30x66 on 2mins.

Hahah! Right in your face. 34m less AND, we have extra 20seconds rest to top that! ROFL. I feel so good right now. I swam reasonably well for that set. Whee.

Also, I learnt ALOT of new stuff (about stroke rates and turns) from Gary! Hahah now I understand a whole lot more about how training works here in NZ.

Kick set was 8x100 on 1.50, and although I didn't make the cycles, I didn't stop kicking hard and I didn't give up! (: Like finally, right? I feel so proud of myself although I didn't make that freaking cycle which makes me feel kinda pissed off.

I also talked more during training today. The people are generally very nice. Except for a few people who are alot better than me. I guess I'm just beneath them and I don't deserve their breath to be wasted on me. Ohwell it's not like I haven't experienced this before in Singapore. Who cares about them anyway. I wouldn't wanna talk to those kinda people even if they did talk to me. Sheesh.

Okay now to wrap up the day, I'm gonna have steamboat dinner because today also happens to be CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE! (: Yay!

On the other hand, there's school tmr pfftz will post about it tmr :P Later!
