BIG SHOCKER THERE, DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING
Thursday, February 28, 2008

For morning training we just had 4 different sets of drills to work on: Fly, Back, Breast and Free. There were about 10 types of drills for each stroke, and we had to do 3 laps of each drill. Started with free, then back, followed by fly and finally, breast. Uhm I was 1/4 way through the breaststroke drills then I had to hop out because of school.

After tutor time I went to look for my Dean to tell her my options. She changed all my timetable according to my Year 11 subjects. Then I was informed that I had to start my new lessons TODAY. I was in horror, because I thought I'd only change class after I got back from Christchurch! D:

Anyway, THINGS DID NOT GO WELL TODAY. I'm learning Investigation: Human biology and beyong & Chemistry for this semester. Omfg I died for Human Bio lah! I was like totally lost in the class. What with all the Amino Acids + Glycerol + Maltose and all the other cheem science terms. Oh gosh I felt terrible! It was like I haven't studied in ages. Well actually I haven't BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

Then math. I was put into Advanced Math for Year 11 too, and that's really scary because my sister isn't even in Year 11 Advanced Math. I started out a bit lost in the class, because we were doing graphs & all the gradient thingos, but then I got back on track halfway, mainly because I've learnt the stuff in Singapore already. Just haven't used them in a long while, that's all. I made sure I understood everything that was taught in class by reading my math textbook during recess. It sure helped, to my surprise (:

Chemistry! Hahaha it wasn't so bad. Anyway I survived half a year of Chemistry with Mr Lau in RG so I obviously survived here too. We're learning Ionic and Covalent Bonding -.- (RG people, this definitely sounds familiar to you :D) so I could keep up. Only problem was I forgot all my elements on the Periodic Table so I had to keep referring to it when I did my homework at home (which was not long ago). Heh other than that it was okay.

English we were in the library reading books so nothing much :P

Geography! Uhm pretty interesting stuff. VERY different from Singapore. Cause we're learning stuff that's happening in NZ. We're supposed to have an assessment next week but I'll be away so I'm giving it a miss. Yay! We're learning about wind power now and there's a debate going on about whether they should build a wind power farm in Wellington.

Hmm that's all for today I think. Tmr I will be having all my subjects. Human Bio, Geog, English, Math, Chem & History. I'm not sure how History will be like, since I didn't have it today. I think I'll be able to cope with Year 11 if I work as hard as I did in Singapore. That won't be too bad, I guess. Skipping a year of school certainly is worth it.

Nevertheless, I'm so sad that I'm not with my Year 10 friends anymore. Oh well I still spend recesses + lunches with them so I'm okay (:

Friday's tmr, which means I'll be packing for Nationals! :D Shopping for snacks and whatnot on Saturday, and take off on Sunday!

3 MORE DAYS TO CHRISTCHURCH! <3
